A classic washed Rwandan coffee with lovely sweetness and complexity
A great everyday drinking African coffee with a lovely soft apple acidity and caramel finish. A light-medium roast makes this suitable for both espresso and filter. Currently our go-to batch brew coffee in the workshop.
The trip to Nyakabingo washing station first takes you by car towards its sister station, Kanyege. Then, you must get out and walk the remaining kilometer up the west facing slope of the hill that gives the station its name. Looking out from the washing station, one can see countless rolling hills continuing as far as the eye can see.
Roast Level: light-medium
We roast the Nyakabingo to a light-medium level that really showcases its balance, delicate acidity and sweetness. Perfect for filter and espresso but please allow to rest for a week if possible.
