Origin Notes:
Xicotepec De Juarez is located at the heart of the Sierra Madre Oriental, one of the most important mountain ranges in Mexico, which generates a landscape with a 1000+ metres altitude difference in the region. This allows a big amount of coffee diversity; with farms that sit almost at sea level, (producing Robusta and Catimor), whilst high quality Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon grow within an hour's distance from each other.
This variety of microclimates shows the incredible potential of the coffee in this region. A few years back, Xicotepec received the title of Pueblo Mágico (magic town) which is a certification created by the Mexican tourism office for communities with touristic interest. This generated an increase in tourism in the region based mostly on coffee production.
Roast Level: light-medium
We roast this beautiful Mexican coffee to a light-medium level so it is perfect for filter coffee and for espresso drinkers who enjoy bright, fruity shots. For espresso, we recommend it is rested for 10 days before use.
